Basics: Tapioka Pudding

this is the basic tapioka pudding recipe. easy, fast and yummy. i eat this when i have a craving for a warm sweet dish like rice pudding.

serving is for 1 serving (i guess lol)

1/2 Cup    Tapioka Pearls
1    Cup     any kind of liquid you like, here i put in coconut milk. you can also substitute half a a cup liquid with fruit puree. add more liquid if needed.

Combine both ingredients and cook it on medium to low high temperature until the pearls are soft and the pudding gets soft and sticky. this takes about 10-20 min regarding to the amount of liquid and the temperature.

serve it hot or cold with any kind of fruit purees, sauces, chopped fruits or whatever u like.

i topped it with Mango Puree and a mix of cinnamon and sugar substitude.

YUM YUM YUUUUUUUUM

hope you enjoy!!!

Snacks and Treats: Apple Slices with Peanutbutter

Apple slices with Peanutbutter or other nut and seed butters, raw chocolate ect.
its one of my favorite snacks for the evening watching tv or while playing playstation. super fast to prepare, healthy and delicous!!!! my favorite apples are Pink Lady Apples. They are sweet, a liiiiitle sour too and so juicy and fresh.
i melted 2 teaspoons of peanut butter in the microwave and sprinkled it on top of my apple slices.

Food Watch: Tapioka / Sago

Tapioka or also called Sago is a starch extracted from the Yuca Palm.
Its mostly used for Puddings and sweet dishes but you can also use Tapioka as a sauce thickener, in drinks, as flour for baking, ect ect.
Tapioka is gluten free

its almost tasteless and i usually use it for my "rice pudding" instead of rice. most of you will know them as those disgusting bubble tea bubbles ;)

recipes will follow;)

Protein Powder

I use raw protein powder in shakes, in bakery goods, in my porridge, as a topping ect.
i used to buy the cheap protein powders from the supermarket but i found some more healthy raw versions where u can benefit better. i use them sometimes to replace a meal for weight loss or just add it for flavor and protein kicks. the raw and organic versions don't have any artifical stuff in it and are plant based.

here are my favorite ones

Sugar Substitutes

of course there is stevia but i don't really like the taste, so i was looking for better tasting alternatives and found:

Xucker: tastes just like sugar and looks like it. of course its much more expensive but i think its worth it!!
http://www.xucker.de

i also found a good powdered sugar alternative called Sukrin. its too expensive though to use for baking but u can at least use it as a topping

Milk Substitutes

Since i don't like Soy milk too much here a few better options ;)

1. unsweetened Almond Milk (my favorite)

2. Calcium Rice Milk

3. Oatmilk for Baking

4. Coconut milk

the only Soy Milk i really like is the Alpro Soya Light. It tastes really fresh, light and not so much soy-ish lol
these milks are pretty healthy and of course a better alternative for cow milk ;)

get them on amazon, your local health store, organic stores and internet shops =)
